Article Galore

Lots of good links to keep you warm on this frigid Friday
-Banks are going down the tube...first Citi and then Bank of America (who probably held the Treasury hostage with the whole Merrill Lynch thing) and now it's moved on to retail as Circuit City is going under.
Front Page
-More on the "Miracle on the Hudson". According to CBS, the plane came within 900 FEET of the bridge (900 FEET!). And mucho kudos to the pilot who is getting a key to the city and deserves one for successfully pulling off what the Wall Street Journal says is a rare feat.
American murder suspect Amanda Knox is escorted by Italian penitentiary police officers to Perugia's court at the end of a hearing, central Italy
-The story of Amanda Knox was not one I had heard until I had some Italian friends come to visit me recently. Trust me, it's fascinating. It has to do with sex, drugs and murder in Italy. What can be better? Wikipedia (honestly, what source would be more accurate?) has their article about the events that occurred in Perugia. The Times has a great picture of the girl who has become somewhat of a sexual icon in Italy. Time Magazine has an article about the start of her trial. FOX News (honestly, what source would be better for a story on sex, drugs and murder?) has some excerpts from Knox's diary about the ridiculous fan mail that she's been getting. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer (what a name!) has a blog about her and also an article titled "Amanda Knox: What's sex got to do with it?" which got me to at least open it...
-This article from the Philadelphia Inquirer is a fascinating story about how the Eagles almost moved to Arizona but got saved at the last second by an Arizona columnist who really, really wanted an NFL team.
-No offense (my favorite phrase, because you can say ANYTHING after it), but couldn't Courtney Love have been the one to shoot herself?
-I'm thinking this is how Carl Pavano ended his tenure with the Yanks...
-From Reuters: "Police use Facebook to nab burglar". I'm going to watch that live feed more closely...
-This just makes me smile because the one he didn't catch was thrown by Eli Manning at the end of the Super Bowl last year...(still crying myself to sleep in my 18-1 shirt). And I hope this guy goes far, far, far away from the Giants (he KILLS them).
-More Madoff stuff: the New York Times wants to know how much his wife knew and Reuters says that his fund may not have made a SINGLE trade.
-I wrote yesterday about the passing of Todd Drew. Last night Alex Bleth went into much more detail about the man. Sad story, indeed.
-And, from the New York Times, a comparison of Jack Bauer and Still-President Bush (H/T to Mich on this one).
