A-Rod Tested Positive for Steroids in 2003

Didn't think we'd hear this news about Alex Rodriguez. I'm not sure there will be a lot of talk about this in the next couple of days (including how the heck this information got out, since it was supposed to be kept quiet), but this may put a damper on someone who could become the all-time home run hitter

Update 12:24 PM: Totally forgot about this, but MLB Network (which is totally awesome by the way) just played a 2007 Jose Canseco clip on WEEI in Boston where he said that A-Rod was "not who he seemed". Wow. Jose may have "vindicated" himself...wow.

Update 12:35 PM: Just remembered that Canseco showed up at the Mitchell press conference and seemed upset that A-Rod wasn't on there. Interesting...

Some other links on the subject: MLB Trade Rumors (which says that his contract cannot be changed), Deadspin, The Big Lead, Fanhouse, ShysterBall, Baseball Musings, Blogging the Bombers, Yahoo!'s Big League Stew , and the original story from Sports Illustrated.

Wow.
