Friday Afternoon Links To Start The Weekend

Some more links for you to take you into your weekend (sorry if you saw an earlier post up there under...got a little trigger happy with the send button):

-Ahhh...organized crime and sports. Sounds like baseball in 1919. The good ole days...
-Speaking of the Canadians, the Rangers may need some chutzpah like this
-Jehuda may be out on his ass at Brandeis
-So Sarah Palin has to pay back taxes. Are Republicans up in arms about this? How about this fact that John McCain took $28K from fraud suspect R. Allen Stanford? Or are we going for another nice double standard here?
-If this is true, than it's really crazy, because every little kid will be scared of the 100-foot-long snake monster (H/T Buster Olney)
-I think that Giants need to go with a Wide Receiver or Linebacker in the first round of the draft. A lot depends on what happens in free agency, but Mel Kiper, Jr. and Todd McShay (with Hakeem Nicks who looks really good) agree with my thinking
-Rainn Wilson (AKA Dwight Schrute) standing up for the Baha'i faith in Iran.
-A very helpful look at 2009 and 2010 free agency in the NBA.
-"Why I Hate Facebook" (H/T Twitter's @mashable). Facebook continues its domination of MySpace. How to friend Mom, Dad and the boss on Facebook safely (Sarah)
-How to get 1,645 free digital prints and only pay shipping and handling.
-I wonder if this will improve Time Warner Cable and their shitty-ass service
-Yesterday was a bad day for Google (H/T Sarah)
-It took WAY too long, but California finally has a budget (which looked pretty grim after this for days)
-Some more insights into the crazy, overreaching influence of J. Edgar Hoover. This guy was quite nuts going after a guy's sexuality when supposedly he was big into cross-dressing and had his sexuality questioned a lot. I think we should have at least one movie about this guy, though I'm interested to see how Billy Crudup plays him in this upcoming Michael Mann film (what a cast, by the way!).
-A little analysis of the Michael Smith story on Shane Battier
-Some good stuff from Anderson Cooper's Twitter account which leads to his AC360 blog which leads to this article about a "Ponzi Prince Charming", this article on local and state governments needing money, and this very funny column.
-Doc Jensen Lost recap (and his preview which I forgot to post). And TWOP with a recaplet
-Pretty awesome Humans vs. Zombies game (H/T Matt)
-I think this whole mass human-capital exodus thing is overblown. Where are people going to find million dollar jobs? Hedge funds? Technology? Internet startups? Public Sector? Maybe Private Equity, but there are only so many jobs there...So I think most people will stay where they get a paycheck.
-One guy's bromance with Thomas Jones (H/T Deadspin)
-McDonalds is beating your company at 401k match
-The People's Sports Blog is back with a post
-Oldie but goodie: when an advanced degree can kill a relationship
-Al Gore sent me to this site because he wants me to stop global warming. Problem is I like warm weather. This is a dilemma.
-Northwest Airlines are serving...what?
-Good-bye you piece of shit stadium

Still have plenty of links...will get out another one before 5, hopefully
