Brian Leetch Is In The Hockey Hall Of Fame

Congrats to Brian Leetch who was elected today to the Hockey Hall of Fame along with Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Steve Yzerman (as well as New Jersey Devils president Lou Lamoriello in the Builder's Category). Leetch is the first U.S.-born defenseman to make his way into the Hockey Hall of Fame and is joined by one of the best right wings, left wings and centers in hockey. Watching "Leetchy" glide across the ice was awesome as he led the standard for offensive defensemen for a while. The man could lead a rush and quarterback a power play like few others. The Rangers have missed him doing that for a while now.
Newsday has more from an article this morning previewing this pick including a pretty impressive bio: The 11-time All-Star's career includes winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 1989, the Norris Trophy as best defenseman in 1992 and 1997, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1994, when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup.
Rangers fans will always remember that 1994 playoff and Brian Leetch will now be remembered and enshrined by the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 9th in Toronto.
