Matzoh Ball Sized Passover Links

Wanted to wish everyone out there celebrating Passover a Chag Sameach. Some Pesach links for you:

-Why is this Passover different from (many) other Passovers? Because it's the once-in-every-28-year celebration of Birkat Hachama, celebrating the birth of the sun and creation. The only two other times that this ceremony fell on this date in the Jewish calendar were prior to being redeemed from Egypt and prior to the miracle of Purim. So maybe this year it will be prior to the economy's recovery? I dunno if that'll live up to those expectations, but it should be something huge! 50,000 people participated at the prayer ritual at the Western Wall according to Haaretz.
-Awesome. "Moses is Departing Egypt: A Facebook Haggadah"
-A nice New York Times Op-Ed on one person's Passover Song
-A New York Times column which says that while cleaning out the cupboard for Passover, also think about waste and learn about ways to improve your own eating and shopping habits.
-On those same lines, the Detroit Free Press says when buying Kosher for Passover foods, it may be time to redefine what is really "Kosher" in our food production
-A very, well, interesting column from the Washington Post which says that charoset has nothing to do with mortar and everything to do with sex. Very interesting...
-Also interesting, CNN reports that President Obama will be the first president to reside over a Passover Seder in the White House. President Obama also sends out his Passover greetings
-Lastly, if you're in New York and looking for places to eat during Passover, here are a few restaurant suggestions: Kosher for Passover places here and some KforP and some just very interesting KforP style here

Next year we blog from Jerusalem!
