American skip and final shooter John Shuster missed a chance to knock out a Danish stone. His last rock jammed on another one of his own and kept Denmark in scoring position.Someone on Wikipedia got in on the action as well. Check out how torched Shuster's Wiki page is (click to view):
I wanted to post that before someone changed it. That is amazing. The last part was the best:
"Shuster said he draws inspiration from Bill Buckner, Brad Lidge, Scott Norwood, and the city of Cleveland.
He currently works as a quality control specialist for Toyota."
Boom! Roasted!
Update 3:42 PM: The Wiki page has been changed but you can enjoy the screenshot over and over again.
Update 3:51 PM: Jay is right, it is a race between the Wikipedia editors and the John Shuster haters. Will try to get as many of them as possible up on the blog but you can see the history of comments here
It's a race! Wikipedia Editorial Police vs. John Shuster Roasters!
ReplyDeleteHere are some comments that are added (and then deleted) every time I refresh the Wiki:
--------------------
Growing up Shuster was an avid baseball fan. In 2003, he attended a playoff baseball game. When a foul ball was headed towards the stands, he made a play for it but unsurprisingly he couldn't make the play. Steve Bartman is now blamed for the epic loss because Shuster couldn't make the play.
---------------------
Shuster failed four times to make a game-winning shot in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. He chokes more than a prostitute.
You can actually see the whole revision history here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Shuster&action=history
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to see what some people wrote before it was corrected
I know it's mean to pile on, but hey, I'm not the one who decided to compete in the Olympics and risk being roasted for choking in a critical spot!
ReplyDeleteHere's another dandy from the Wikipedia entry history page:
John "chokey mcchokestein" Shuster (born November 3, 1982) is an American choker from Chisholm, Minnesota and Olympic medalist.
John Shuster has single handedly ruined the USA chances to compete for the gold. He missed 3 final shots that could have been made by a one armed, one legged, brainless monkey
ReplyDeleteAnd we've now protected the page from vandalism by anonymous editors.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, Anonymous Member of the Wikipedia Police, nobody from NYaT vandalized Chokey McChokestein's wikipedia page.
ReplyDeleteSo the person who informs us they've protected the Wikipedia page by vandalism by anonymous editors writes that comment anonymously? Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteSaw this one from a few revisions back: "It is impossible to explain how much of a failure Shuster is with mere words. Only video can do it justice."
Oh wait...there's more:
ReplyDelete"His inability to hammer out points in clutch situations, such as during the 2010 Olympic games, Shuster has recently become known as the Donovan McNabb of professional curling."
Professional curling? I think that is being kind to him. My sister played better on the bocce court during the summer at the Roslyn Country Club. She was 6 years old at the time.
ReplyDeleteI do not appreciate all the Philly references to choking. Although I have to say, I was watching the curling match earlier today and the first thing I thought of was how cheering for the USA curling team reminded me of being a Philly sports fan. I guess I can't say the references are totally uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteFact 1: Posts from Wiki page are from an IP address located at Lehigh University.
ReplyDeleteFact 2: Andrew Katz attends Lehigh.
Don't be a bitch man.. If you are going to post that crap then own it.
Dude, I went to Brandeis and I'm a few years out of college. There are a ton of people with that name. Get your facts right before you start calling people a bitch, man.
ReplyDeleteThere's MORE THAN 1 Andrew Katz? Crazy.
ReplyDeleteSo do you think the two Andrew Katz's conspired against John Shuster together?
BTW did anyone catch the Women's Curling? That Dutch chick is HOT
Sarah, the hot chick was Danish! Dutch is Holland!
ReplyDeleteThe Danish team had a few good looking girls and one serious grenade.
All of you cut this guy up. So what have you all accomplished? At least he can say he made it there.
ReplyDeleteI just read that they benched Shuster...wow: http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-features/news/newsid=430878.html#u+s+benches+shuster+france+match
ReplyDeleteIf I had a chance to add to wiki I would have mentioned his stupid "lucky" hat. If I were Shuster I would have burned that hat after about the second choke. But he's still wearing it today, 2/20 after the U.S. put him back in.
ReplyDeleteLet's just say that Shuster is,,,, consistant,,,,,,just like the Buffalo Bills,, the Atlanta Braves and the Republican party for the next several Presidential elections,,,,consistant losers,,,,,,,, How many more times are we going to have to watch the other teams make the shot,,and then listen to Shuster say how well the US team is playing, and how he only missed that critical shot by a few inches,,,, THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING !!!!! If you can't make those few critical inches,,then sit your butt down and let someone else give it a try. At least your Daddy isn't the coach like the woman's team has to deal with. I don't know who's put up the more pathetic performance, Shuster or McCormick ?? They've both been painful to watch.
