Giants Injury Updates

Ari is a Mets fan. He's also a Giants fan. He may have to stop rooting for the Giants if these injuries keep on piling up like the Mets' did. From The Blue Screen:

LB Michael Boley was spotted on crutches this afternoon, and Coughlin said Boley’s knee stiffened up during the plane ride home, so he’s being sent for medical tests today. An injury there would be a real shame, since Boley was outstanding yesterday, finally showing why the Giants made him their No. 1 free-agent priority back in the spring.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw, meanwhile, has the protective boot back on his right ankle. It appears to be once again for precautionary reasons, though Coughlin did say Bradshaw’s foot was sore after the game.

And TE Kevin Boss is “having a little trouble” today with his injured ankle. He was able to play through the pain in the second half yesterday, but he looked to be in considerable discomfort in the locker room this afternoon.

Meanwhile, if you’re awaiting news on DT Chris Canty (calf), CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) and WR Domenik Hixon (knee), Coughlin said their status is unchanged … which of course isn’t good. They will be reevaluated tomorrow, however, and we’ll know more about their status on Wednesday.

Boley is a big loss. I forgot to add "best free agent pickup this off-season" to my Giants quarter review, but Boley would have been it. He's been a big part of their banged up defense so far this season and would be a big loss. The Star-Ledger thinks he may be out a few weeks.

The one good piece of news? Eli Manning's injury is not his achilles; it's plantar fasciitis. It's a painful injury and may keep him out a week. But as Matt Mosley points out, Manning isn't doing much cutting which is where the injury is supposedly the most painful. And knowing Manning (who was supposed to be out a month with a shoulder injury and played the next week), he'll make the start Sunday.
