An Eagles Fan Tells Us Why They'll Win...

An Eagles fan decided that my five reasons why the Eagles could win wasn't good enough...Erik Olson (age 11) needed to give me his five reasons why the Eagles WILL win:

The five reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles will win against the New York Giants are:

#1. The Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Backs are better than the New York Giants Wide Receivers. The Eagles have Asante Samuel, Sheldon Brown, Brian Dawkins, and Quintin Mikell. Plus the Eagles have Lito Sheppard and Joselio Hanson as back ups. The Giants putting in Wide Receiver Domenik Hixon in as the replacement for Plaxico Burress was not the best idea. Amani Toomer is good but Mikell or Dawkins or any other Defensive Back could cover him. But those are the only Wide Receivers that the Giants will use for the game. Maybe Steve Smith but mostly Hixon and Toomer.

#2. The Eagles will blitz and get in the face of QB Eli Manning. The Giants have done good blocking this entire season, but you know Jim Johnson. Stewart Bradley, Chris Gocong, or Akeem Jordan are going to clean Manning's clock at some point. Plus, the Eagles have a good and young front four, so don't be surprised if Manning fumbles the ball, throws an interception, or plain gets sacked. Remember the Eagles are 3rd in the league in sacks and 1st in the NFC with blitzes.

#3. Giants Defensive End Justin Tuck has been playing great...up to this point. I have to admit, Tuck is great and deserves his Pro Bowl berth, but he has not been playing up to his potential lately. Plus Tackels Jon Runyan and William "Tra" Thomas have done good lately not including against Minnesota. Also, Tight End L.J. Smith and Guard Shawn Andrews might come back this week after missing several weeks with injuries (Andrews has only played one game).

#4. The Philadelphia Eagles will have great field position with their Special Teams. I never thought I'd see the day that I am saying that the Philadelphia Eagles have a good Special Teams unit. DeSean Jackson had a great post season debut with 109 punt return yards. Quintin Demps had over 1000 kick return yards and more than 26 yard average per return. So don't be surprised to see a breakout return by one of those two rookies.

#5. Kicker David Akers has done better in the post season than the regular season. David Akers had an okay regular season but then he broke out into the post season and made 3 field goals. One of his field goals was a 51 yard kick. In the last game, the Giants blocked 2 field goals but if he plays how he played against Minnesota than he will get a couple points on the board against New York.
