Scott Proctor's Arm, Austin Jackson?, and Derek Jeter Underrated?

A few Yankees links:
  • A fellow Yankee blogger and Twitter buddy, Scott Proctor's Arm, got the attention of Michael Kay because of his Michael Kay drinking game. Andrew has now posted the audio after he called to talk to Michael. Mad props.
  • I like Steven Goldman's writing. But he makes the case in this post that the Yankees don't have any outfield prospects by referring to the fact they only have Austin Jackson...but then totally dismisses that they do have Austin Jackson. He may not be the next coming of Bernie Williams, but he can't be dismissed just yet.
  • Baseball-Reference points out that the Yankees now have all 9 people in their starting lineup on pace for 40 extra base hits. That's some balanced attack.
  • Joe Posnanski says that Derek Jeter is underrated and you can measure that in tangible ways. That's a first.
  • I wanted to compare the value of Yankees players to their FanGraphs' "values" and see if they're close, but River Ave Blues pointed out that someone beat me to it. Damn having a real job...
  • Lastly, Peter Abraham has a nice story of CC Sabathia going back to school, another reason to like CC Sabathia
More later...
