Plaxico Burress to Plead Guilty, Serve Two Years

Now this is justice. From The New York Times:

Plaxico Burress, the former Giants receiver, will admit guilt in his weapons-possession case in a plea deal with Manhattan prosecutors that will send him to prison for two years, according to a person with knowledge of the case. Mr. Burress, 31, arrived at the courthouse Thursday morning to appear before Justice Michael H. Melkonian.

Wow. Two years in jail. That was not expected. Not to downplay what Burress did at all, but how did he get two years in jail for accidently shooting himself and Donte’ Stallworth get less than a month for killing a man while driving drunk and high?

Still, the Giants look a lot better now for just letting Burress go. I wonder what will happen to his NFL career once he is a free man again. Very interesting to see that Michael Bloomberg and the Manhattan prosecutors stuck by their word and said that Plax would not get off easy for this.

More to come later…
