Old Uniform/New Uniform

With Ivan Rodriguez going back to Texas and John Smoltz heading to the Cardinals, I thought this year was especially strange with guys either going back to their old teams or joining new ones for the first times in their careers.

Some year for going back to your roots:

-Ken Griffey, Jr. donned a Seattle Mariners’ jersey for the first time since 1999

-Mike Hampton pitched for the Houston Astros for the first time since 1999

-Jason Giambi was a member of the Oakland A’s for the first time since 2001

-Now Ivan Rodriguez is a Texas Ranger for the first time since 2002

-Fun seeing them all back in their old, new uniforms

Guys who I haven’t gotten used to wearing a new uniform:

-John Smoltz in a Red Sox uniform after 20 years wearing only a Braves uniform (and now he is a member of the Cardinals)

-Trevor Hoffman as a member of the Brew Crew after being the Padres closer for 16 years

-Garret Anderson with the Atlanta Braves after 15 years with the Angels (of California, Anaheim, and Los Angeles)

-Jack Wilson (9 years with only Pittsburgh), Victor Martinez and Cliff Lee (8 years each with only Cleveland), Jake Peavy (8 years with only San Diego) and Alex Rios (6 years with only Toronto) also switched uniforms this season
