Jets Don't Give Bloggers Credentials....

...But maybe in the future?




Doug Simon, my boss, had the opportunity to interview Jared Winley, Senior Manager for Public & Media Relations for the New York Jets earlier this week.

A lot of teams put up fluff on their websites but Winley values authenticity, not only on the Jets' site but in the social networking arena. A point of interest for bloggers - although currently only Jets Insider has credentials, he seemed open to the idea of media credentials for bloggers going forward.

This recent ruling from a New Jersey court denies bloggers protection under the state's reporters shield law. As traditional media outlets give way to web based news, we hope to see other teams update their policies to include bloggers in the press box. Hopefully we will be there soon!
