Lost Finale In One Word: Wow

So I was right about Juliet and wrong about a lot of other things. Maybe.

So here's a backwards progression of things. The John Locke we all thought was John Locke this season was not, he was Jacob's rival. And the reason John became dead and was brought back to the island was because Christian Shephard helped show him the way. And Christian was dead. And then wasn't. So was Jacob's rival in Christian's body too? Is that why Jacob left the house and Christian took over? And if we stretch it even further, Jacob's rival is probably the Smoke Monster as well...who took the form of Alex and told Ben to follow everything that "Locke" did. And who led Ben to this place? Well, Fake Locke. And then we go back to Claire's warning to Kate not to bring "him" back. Maybe the "him" was actually Locke. Because this would happen. And she would know since she's living with her fake dad. Or something like that...

So in some ways I was right about the parallels between Jack and Locke season 2 finale and Jack and Locke season 5 finale. Except instead of being like Jack and being duped (a la Season 2), Fake Locke duped Ben to get what wanted. And maybe Ben isn't all that all-knowing. Maybe he is just an insecure person who felt shunned by Jacob.

And I wonder now if Charles Widmore had a little more incentive to getting Locke back there then meets the eye. Maybe he too felt shunned by Jacob and worked with Jacob's rival (do we have a name for him? The loophole man?) to get rid of Jacob so that Widmore could return to the island...and he does this by making sure that Faraday goes to the island and helps set this whole wheel in motion...because, like Ben, he's another insecure person shunned by Jacob (because, well, Jacob made him leave the island and never return).

As for the other part of the story, Jack got what he wanted...or he thinks. They had an amazing 24-like scene where they gave Jack cover as he put caps in people's asses. Jughead's inners exploded thanks to Juliet (in an amazingly emotional scene....I thought it was a win for the romantic foursome of Juliet/Sawyer/Kate/Jack...great job by all especially Juliet and Sawyer). But maybe Miles is right. Maybe this won't change things as much as Jack thinks. Maybe this is "the incident". I mean Dr. Chang's arm got hurt (and we see in the videos it's still hurt in the future). Could the blast have knocked out of the rest of the statue? Or maybe made all the female inhabitants of the island unable to give birth? And maybe they have a need to bring Juliet back after all?

Or maybe they all reset and they've landed in LA. And maybe they all get on another flight together. In the future. Maybe that flight is Ajira 316. And maybe they all land in the future together. To stop "Fake Locke" from killing Jacob. I'm going to have a hard time believing there's no new episodes until January. Like I'm still numb to that fact. It hasn't hit yet. I may have to post more tomorrow when more ideas come...like was there a hippo head on that 4-toed statue? or did Jacob make a picture on the wall of the upcoming war? and is that war going to be between the Losties and Fake Locke trying to save the island and humanity and good?

And, oh, all those years of Latin I took in Junior High and High School (6 years!) sort of helped when Richard (AKA Ricardus!) and Ilana were conversing. What lies in the shadow of the statue? Ille qui nos omnes servabit.

He Who Will Save/Protect Us All
