A-Rod's A-Slumpin'

A-Rod A-Sucks recently. He looks totally lost against any breaking pitch and is in desperate need of a day or two off. The numbers from Buster Olney's blog.

Mark Simon and friends of ESPN Statistics and Analysis write that he's hitless in his last 15 at-bats, and in his last 10 games, here are the numbers:

A-Slide
H-AB
Overall 3-34
w/ runners on 1-18
w/ RISP 1-9
Ahead in count 1-7
vs offspeed 0-10
vs LHP 0-7
vs 1st pitch 0-5

He's seen 45 pitches off the plate away and chased after 13 of them (29%) … is 0-for-6 when he actually hits them.

And, after an 0-4 last night, Alex Rodriguez is 8 of 55 (.145) in June with a .309 on-base percentage and a .291 slugging percentage. He is down to .212 for the season and has two home runs in his last 83 at-bats. With 49 ABs with RISP, he's gotten 11 hits (.224) but he's also struck out 10 times, grounded into two double plays, and has ZERO sacrifice flies. None. Kevin Cash has a sacrifice fly and A-Rod can't get the ball in the air to get the guy home from third. With a runner on third and less than two outs? 3 hits to go along with 3 Ks and 2 GIDPs.
So remind me again why I'm not allowed to boo this guy?
