Jews love to point out which celebrities are Jewish. Sometimes we do it to evoke the "oh wow, I didn't know that" reaction (example: Elizabeth Berkeley a.k.a. Jessie Spano). Other times, we do it to brag (Emmanuelle Chriqui) or to contradict common stereotypes (Sandy Koufax).
But the problem with playing this game is that there is no definitive source for proving (or disproving) a celeb's Jewishness.
The solution: Jew or Not Jew. It is a comprehensive database of Jewish celebrities, replete with facts and photos and a convenient search bar. It quantifies each celebrity's Jewishness, in terms of birth history, how they are viewed by the public, whether they look and act Jewish, and a "wildcard" criterion of kvell (pride). Most entries are factually accurate, but liberties are taken for the sake of humor.
Finally....much like Scrabble players use Webster's, Jewish Geography players have their Jew or Not Jew. H/T to Devin Carney for this wonderful find.
