New Series: Celeb/Sports Look-Alikes

Being a Boston sports fan, I don't often have much relevant content to contribute to the blog

Thought I'd do a fun series of celeb/athlete look a-likes.

Sean Avery and Sam Worthington (Jake Sully from Avatar). Andrew pointed this one out to me when we saw the movie in theaters.  Besides Worthington's widow's peak and a few extra scars on Avery's face - after a few drinks I'd say they look pretty similar.

On a scale of 1-10 - how alike do you think they look? (1 Being no way, 10 being TWINS!)

Let me know if you have any other look alikes?

  1. This isn't really a sports/celeb lookalike, but I was watching the UConn vs. Notre Dame basketball game last night, and I noticed that Luke "Don't Call Me Farva" Harangody looks exactly like his own teammate, Jack Cooley. Compare their ND website photos:

Wait, here are 2 even closer photos:

  2. ESPN's Page 2 used to do this, too (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=looking/index). I think this is fun. As I said in my 24 post this week, The Rookie looks exactly like Brandon Dubinsky from the New York Rangers.

  3. And I think that this picture of Sam Worthington makes him look even more like Avery: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3452/3823473327_5a9f07b7fc.jpg

  4. Since poker is not a sport, and therefore Phil Ivey is a celebrity rather than an athlete, you gotta compare Tiger Woods to Ivey. And I'm not the only one who sees it:

  5. I remember one site compared Tiger Woods to Real World: Hawaii's Ruthie. Just take away the hair and you got a match. Especially with both having an epic "crash and burn" in their lives and having to go to rehab.

  6. Wow Sarah, this is the first sports(ish) post I can knowledgeably comment on, given that one doesn't have to know anything about either person to comment, and I have no idea who Sean Avery is.

That said, I think this is the equivalent of saying that all white guys look alike... they both look like white guys. On a scale of 1-10? I'd give the look-alike-rating a 4, since they kind of have the same face shape and coloring.
