Only Tiger Woods could pull this off. With his ball resting on the right flank of an oak tree on the par-5 11th of the TPC, Tiger swung his inverted pitching wedge lefty and the ball actually flew 112 yards. Most amateur golfers cannot hit a normal pitching wedge 100 yards.
Yes, Woods bogeyed the hole. But that was after the lefty swing produced a third shot from the rough behind yet another oak tree, 173 yards from the pin. That obstructed third shot came up short, leading to Tiger's fourth shot, a pitch that landed behind the green on a sprinkler. He then used his 3-wood to chip the ball within a foot of the hole. Naturally, Tiger used his 3-wood to tap in for a 6.
Wow.
