Last night, Andrew and I previewed one of the luxury suites at the New Yankee Stadium. My friend, Amy, was kind enough to sneak us into her company's box in the H&R Block Suite Level. As you can see from the pictures below, the amenities are overwhelming. I have sat in some nice boxes before (Giants Stadium, Izod Center, MSG) but Yankee Stadium has taken things to another level.
Everything is sparkly clean (the place even smells like it's brand new -- probably because it is). The box itself is enormous; you could fit 75 people between the inside standing area and the seating outside. There are 6 hi-def televisions - 4 inside the box and 2 outside. And those TVs feature the YES broadcast, whereas the other TVs around the Stadium feature the in-house feed. There are space heaters to keep you warm outside, and a private bathroom inside so you don't have to stand on a long line outside among the commoners. The food, of course, is delicious and there are many, many options (including a breathtaking dessert tray in the hallway outside the box). The bar is open and fully staffed, along with one or two other attendants.
I could go on and on, but I'll let the photos do the talking. Suffice it to say, despite the ridiculous sticker price, the Yanks have delivered on creating the best luxury suite experience MLB (or any other league) can offer. Thanks again to Amy for hooking us up.
