It's Only One Game

The 1998 Yankees started out 1-4. Just remember that, Yankee fans. We also won the first game last year in Toronto...how did the rest of the season turn out for us? Patience. There were three positive signs which came from yesterday's game: Posada's homerun (which shows he's back), Matsui's homerun (which shows he's back), and Swisher's double (which shows they have a viable bat off the bench for the first time in a LONG time). If Jeter and/or Teixeira knocked in Pena from third in that situation, it totally changes the game. The most negative signs to me were CC not being able to locate and the bullpen's troubles. Mark Teixeira is a slow starter.
The Yankees will lose games (I know, shocker!). They just need to turn it around tomorrow with Wang on the mound. Remember, this guy was a two-time 19-game winner and he's been an afterthought in this Yankees rotation. Though with Wang on the mound, we'll also see how good (or bad) the Yankees infield defense is...though, thankfully, he's their only groundball pitcher. Loved seeing Baseball Tonight back in full force last night. No matter what else is going on in my life, there is something smoothing about Karl Ravich asking Peter Gammons baseball questions. Welcome back, baseball. You've been missed.
