You Can Get With This Or You Can Get With That Week 15

Get with Jason Campbell not with Ben Roethlisberger
Playing Big Ben in Fantasy Week 15 could be ugly (LA TImes)

Ben Roethlisberger is a very good quarterback. The man has two Superbowl rings to prove it. However, since his return from suspension this year, Big Ben has run a little hot and cold (4 very solid games, 4 ok games, and 1 stinker). His last good game was in Week 11 against a then banged up Oakland Secondary (Nnamdi Asomugha did't play). Roesthlisberger's lack of consistency can be tied more to the line's inability to block anyone rather than anything else, but in fantasy the reasons aren't important, the results are. This week the Steelers face an embarrassed and newly desperate Jets team. The Jets have a lot of talent at the cornerback position which allows them to blitz early and often and not have to worry about leaving receivers with one-on-one matchups. This will be a hard fought game, but I doubt it will be a high-scoring one.

The Raiders and Campbell are home this week against a Broncos team which seems to have gone from bad to worse after the firing of their head coach. Let's not forget Campbell posted a respectable 2 TD game earlier this season in Denver, and I can't think of a reason of any kind for a drop off. Certainly not after the Broncos showed they are capable of giving up over 40 points to the inept Cardinals. Campbell on the other had is coming off consecutive good starts.

Get with Tim Hightower not with Rashard Mendenhall

My dislike of Steelers this week continiues with Mendenhall. Did you realize the Steelers lead back is only averaging 3.9 yards per carry this year? In the past two games he hasn't had a touchdown and he's combined for 110 rushing yards. That Steelers line that isn't blocking for Roethlisberger doesn't seem to be blocking for Mendy recently either. Last year Mendenhall had 240 carries and he already has 275. It's food for thought. So is the fact that the Jets are the third best team in the league against the run.

Tim Hightower sure seems to do the most with his opportunities. In his last two games as the featured back he has combined for 2 touchdowns and 230 rushing yards. With Skelton at quarterback, Hightower promises to be the focal point of the offense both running and catching. This week he gets the 25th ranked rush defense in the reeling Carolina Panthers. If this isn't a recipe for more Hightower succes, then I don't know what is.

Get with Pierre Garcon not with Greg Jennings

Aaron Rodgers is doubtful this week and Matt Flynn is likely the starter. This week the Pack play the Pats who have given up 10 total points in their past two games. Isn't that all you need to know? Jennings is a great receiver, and after a slow start he started to put together a fantastic year. A receiver can only be as good as his quarterback though, and last week Flynn didn't look ready to play in the NFL. The Patriots secondary might be young and sometimes porous, but the Packers can't run and you know Belichick isn't going let them get away with it. Jennings seems to be collateral damage this week from Rodger's second concussion of the year.

What's that you say? Peyton Manning's back is against the wall and he's facing the 28th pass defense in the league? Where can I sign up? Garcon has had at least 5 catches for 5 consective weeks. The Jaguars will have to focus on stopping Wayne, which should leave Garcon with plenty of opportunities to shine. Garcon has had an up and down year, but recently he's been more up than down. It's hard to consider Garcon more than a gamble, but I like the upside.
