Running Series: Yankee Stadium Deconstruction Update + Barclays Center Construction Update 3/8/10

Out with the old, in with the new.  On the same day that Tom Kaminski snapped some new photos from Chopper 880, we got our first glimpse of the seating bowl in the Nets' soon-to-be-built Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

I have driven by the old Yankee Stadium several times since it closed its doors in late 2008.  However, driving on the Harlem River Drive this past Saturday afternoon, I got my first glimpse of the Stadium's external deconstruction.  It is plainly visible from the highway -- you can easily see how the upper deck in left field is missing pieces.  Anyway, here are the photos for your viewing enjoyment morbid curiosity:

Running Series: Yankee Stadium Deconstruction Update (2/22/10)

Thanks to Tom Kaminski in Chopper 880, we have another update in the Yankee Stadium deconstruction process. It appears that further damage has been done to the upper deck in left field, as the machines work their way from fair into foul territory. It's crazy that some of the seats I sat in are already gone.

Also, River Avenue Blues has a nice post on the ongoing demolition process. (H/T Andrew via RAB.) Be sure to click on the link to Gary Dunaier's photo album on Flickr. There are some really great shots in there.

Anyways, here you go with the usual visual barrage of destruction...
