End of Week Link Roundup

Two weeks worth of links so we won't cover Jim Joyce here. That's for another post (I could write an essay on it at this point). So here's your Jim-Joyce-less links for the week. Instead, I'll leave you with an AP photo of the Stadium before the Cotto/Foreman fight last night. Enjoy!

We're Talking Baseball (Yankees Baseball):
Potent Quotables:
  • The New York Daily News' Flip Bondy with a quote that made me cringe: "The DH may forever represent an unwanted demotion for older sluggers - Matsui, too, felt that way - but it is the fate of almost everyone, if they're good enough to hang around. Thurman Munson was spared this indignity, in tragic fashion, dying at age 32." Yes, I'm sure dying was so much better
Elsewhere Around Baseball:
Other Sports:
  • According to ESPN, the American Needle case ended with the Supreme Court ruling that the NFL is 32 separate teams. Speaking of SCOTUS, Adam Liptak of The New York Times has a great article about the Court and their baseball allegiances. ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk has word from former Giant Antonio Pierce that Tom Coughlin is on the hot seat.
  • Deadspin writes that Eddy Curry can't pay his bills (and make sure to read why) and The Indy Channel has word about another former Knick big man, Zack Randolph, who is implicated in a drug investigation. ESPN's Chad Ford writes about how the Knicks will lure LeBron and others.
  • Andrew Gross of The Record writes about the Rangers and Islanders first trade since 1972.
Potpourri:
Hope you've had a great weekend. More to come later!

      1 comment:

      1. I should comment that it's West Hartford, Connecticut, that is one of the 10 cool cities to watch in the upcoming decade.

As compared to Hartford, Connecticut, which Shape Magazine says is the #9 fittest city in the USA!
